Information for Non-UP Researchers

The following guidelines govern access and on-premise use of the UP Manila Libraries resources and facilities by visiting users.

  1. Alumni, Former Faculty Members and Students 
    For Alumni, former faculty members, and students honorably discharged from the University the following procedures will be observed:
    • May be allowed to use the library for five (5) days free of charge within a semester.
    • Present identification cards or letters of introduction from a University personnel or a U.P. Alumni Association ID when applying for a permit to use the library.
    • Fees: Beyond five days, Php 20.00 per day.
  2. Private Researchers and Graduate/Undergraduate Students 
    For private researchers and graduate/undergraduate students from other schools, the following procedures will be observed:
    • Present a referral letter from their office/school head librarian requesting the privilege to use the UP libraries and their institution/school ID.
    • Fees: Php 50.00 per day.
  3. Consortium Students/Faculty/Members
    For SMEC and NUTRINET students/faculty/members, the following procedures will be observed:
    • South Manila Educational Consortium
      Adamson University, De La Salle – College of St. Benilde, De La Salle University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Philippine Christian University, Philippine Normal University, Philippine Women’s University, Santa Isabel College, St. Paul University Manila, St. Scholastica’s College Manila)
    • NUTRINET Members
      DOST-FNRI, DOST-STII, DOST-ITDI, Nutrition Center of the Philippines, Nutrition Foundation of the Philippines, DOH-KMITS, DOH-NNC, DSWD-CBB, DA-ATI, Unilab, Inc., Center for Culinary Arts, Manila, UPHS-JONELTA, UPHSL-CIHMND, UPH-DJGTMU-CM, SJCM-SIHM
    • Present a referral letter from their office/school head librarian requesting the privilege to use the UP libraries and their institution/school ID.
    • Fees: Free of Charge
  4. Government Agency Researchers
    • Present a letter from the head of their agency requesting the privilege to use the library and their office ID.
    • They may be allowed to use the library free of charge up to five (5) days per semester. Beyond five days they will be assessed library fees.
    • Fees: Beyond five days, Php 20.00 per day.

Reminder

  • It is encouraged that you contact the College Library first before visiting. The communication from the library staff will serve as the appointment confirmation.
     
  • It is advised that you search the Tuklas Web Catalog and do a preliminary search of our library resources.
     
  • Note that the UP Manila Libraries are composed of college libraries in different locations. As you search for materials in Tuklas, take note of the material location to determine the library to be visited.
